Sleep !
Hi friends ! Almost every one of us enjoy sleeping . I feel very happy going to bed on those nights when I don't have to set an early morning alarm for the next day ! How many of us have ever thought about our sleep cycle ?
Here are just a few lines about our sleep..
We basically have two types of sleep. The non rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep and rapid eye movement (REM)sleep. When we go to bed we start off with our NREM sleep and enter into deep sleep through REM sleep. Our sleep consists of cycles of NREM and REM sleep. One cycle lasts for 90 min. Again the next cycle starts. This continues till we wake up the next day morning..
An adult has an average sleeping period of 7-8 hrs. He will be completing 4-5 cycles during his sleep..
Sleep is in fact a state of un conciousness where our heart rate, blood pressure , respiration and even the body metabolism Will be at a slower pace.
Remember ,our elders say "do not disturb a child when he is asleep" ? Ever thought why ? The answer is simple ..It's because during sleep our body secrets some important hormones like growth hormone which is very much essential for the child's growth.
Dreaming and snoring are a feature of REM sleep.
Hope all of u get a good deep sleep tonight !!
See you soon !
Bye !
